Covering a beat that ranged from the Internet to cosmology, medical research to the environment and beyond, I wrote about the research behind obesity drugs, technological believers who desire to be “better than human,” mounting pollution from plastic shopping bags and the dwindling genetic diversity of farm animals. My work appeared the 22 Newhouse-owned newspapers (including the Portland Oregonian, Cleveland Plain Dealer and Newark Star-Ledger) and was picked up by other news outlets (including the Wall Street Journal, San Jose Mercury News, San Francisco Chronicle, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun and MSNBC Online).
